Rostock 2020

The Global-Class 2 is a cruise ship that MV Werften Rostock and MV Werften Wismar started to build. The keel was laid in September 2019. Measured by the number of passengers, it is the largest cruise ship globally, with a length of 342m and a capacity for every 9500 passengers in 2500 cabins. Firma Nietiedt Stahl- und Metallbau GmbH became a supplier for assemblies of Global Class 2 with a specially built production facility on the premises of the MV Werft in Rostock. A total capacity, around 25-30t of steel were processed per week, and 400-450m of weld seams were produced per day. The tasks of Juhl Engineering consisted in the ext. Welding supervision included quality control and adherence to the weld seam preparation in connection with the WPS, a link between construction management and welder, recording the welded meters, and VT testing of the welded constructions.
